I taught her to give birth
and her me to be a man—
enough to love her
//
mothers give birth to men
who will give them love or grief…
I taught her to give birth
and her me to be a man—
enough to love her
//
mothers give birth to men
who will give them love or grief…
casting love as shade
dancing in the wind with grace
—mothers are our trees
we are deserts without them;
loveless—a shore without sea
this is for the messengers transitioned and still in position.
What is in the way?
freedom—a long quest
pulling the branch of a tree
we spring without fall
~
summer clashing with winter
we fight or die to survive
your smile warms the heart
that mourns the sun in autumn
where time turns winter
I heard the dawn’s song
sacred as our breaths give birth
to old and new souls
now we belong here
with words and images bound
through thought we live on
~
who expresses without thought
a poem without eyes to see
This respiring
of time
renewal of mind and matter,
out of womb
rebirth,
A resurrection—of dead things
redemption
reconstructing
the order of old things.
