Haiku 251-255/365:2013 | Our Strength

we threw stones at them

they fired bullets for poems

our truth a sentence

~

binding together

despite the chaos we bare

leaves of the same tree

~

metal tanks are fertile

with heated rounds of hatred

surrounding our homes

~

young men brave their fears

with rocks and staffs dressed in white

robes prepared to stain

~

sustain our beliefs

we stood as giants on mountains

in small fragile frames

~

our stones were our hearts

their bullets personified

hatred against love
