perception and misdirection

some see the koi as a spotted ugliness for a fish, they see that as poetic; some see them as mindlessness trapped in a pond, they call that poetry; others see the strength of all life in a simple pond, content  with its contrasting colors, floating in meditation, the monks in poetic thought: this is called the poem not poetry.

We each see the things in life as either treasure or waste, yet never as equal in possibility; the wise find the poetry in every poem, and everything is a poem unto itself.
