Understanding Verse 141: Consequence of the Tongue

the tongue is a sword for both peace and war and the most trained warrior knows to unsheathe when honor is the purpose, for to do otherwise is to incite war unnecessarily; the warrior knows every consequence of action and moves accordingly.  Even the truth has its moments of silence and it gains greater power by resting while multitudes search for its voice. Those who unsheathe their tongue fecklessly wound themselves, even the smallest of wounds could prove fatal; it is better to be renowned for what you are capable of saying than to be ruined by what is said.
