…her smile.

Her smile has magic in it

…it heals the broken,

fills the longing pits

of an unbound heart;

searching for the dawn

on an ocean of nights

slipping into slow-motion—forever,

dreaming…

…wishing upon falling—stars: love.

We’ve supplicated to the shore:

stretch out your legs, run out to me

extend to us your arms, tether us—once more.

lend us the pull of the moon

illuminate the darkness of the tide

that sets us adrift.

May we find us;

may the dawn shed her tears for us

to comfort the soul—at the very least

until we are standing…

under the same sun—together again.

yet, until then

I will imagine

her magic—her smile.
